I made gratin for dinner last night. When you make gratin, I am sure that most people will make bechamel sauce. Well I have no time so I use the regular 100 yen tea strainer to skip the process. I sauteed everything I had in the fridge, I sprinkled all purpose flour using the strainer (If you don't, the flour will not stick to the ingredients, the flour sticks to itself and you are going to have big trouble later.) and sautee more. After that, you can add milk little by little! Voila! You are ready to put them on a baking tray, put some cheese on top and pop it into a 200 degrees oven for 10 minutes! You can make this dish in about 20 minutes total! Pretty cool, huh!?
Where did I get this fennel? Yaoki in Higashiosaka.

Very cool veggie shop, you can get almost any vegetables if they are in season. It's worth a trip!
